As I mentioned, this image is not new. It was done... back in 2015, when this project started, a project that had to be put in a hiatus more than once. A year and a half later, the project is finally in shape to be unveiled. I will be posting 6 new images of this line between today and April 20th, the date when the line officially launches (mmmh, I wonder why on that specific date). The line will feature 12 different pin-ups total and at least 14 different girls. Girls, tattoos and weed, how can it get more cool than that? Excited? I know I am!
By the way, I wanted to point out how this image, being from 2015, it reflects a bit of my evolution as an artist. I say this because it features elements of my artwork from the past, like the smiley weed leaf, with big eyes and tongue sticking out. As you know, that's a style that I'm not currently rendering in my current pin-ups, but that doesn't mean I won't go back to it. Similarly, the preliminary sketch accompanying this image looks a bit more rough than my current ones, because back then my sketches weren't as detailed as they are now. I didn't even kept records of my work in progress as I do now. Anyway, just wanted to mention that detail, because it is always good to see how we learn to work in a more efficient way, not cutting corners, but rather doing things better and faster. Regardless of sketches, works in progress, etc., the final image is a total score, that's for sure!
As always, I want to thank each one of you, my patrons, for making possible for me to keep working as an independent artist. I like working on projects like this one, working on things that make me want to keep pushing and trying harder. You guys are part of what make this possible indeed. And for that, I'll always be grateful.
Stay tuned this month for the release of more images, more girls and more fun. Sunnie and I are working very hard to make this a kick-ass line. She herself has some great surprises related to this project (hint: merch, yaaay!). Again: stay tuned, you don't want to miss it.
That's all for now, but trust me, I'll be back very soon. See you next time!
Honestly at first glance I felt the smiley leaf took away from how beautiful this is but after reading the info and looking at the image again I change my mind and love all it. Great job!
